Project Grow

What Is Project Grow?

Project Grow supports high schools in establishing and managing sustainable, learner-led food gardens.

When learners plant seeds, watch crops grow, and bring in their first harvest, they’re learning far more than agriculture. They’re discovering that patience yields results, that caring for the earth sustains life,  and that they are capable of more than they imagined.

Through Project Grow, learners are introduced to agriculture, horticulture, soil health, water stewardship, seasonal planting, and food production. In under-resourced communities, this practical exposure to food gardening is more than vegetables; it plants possibilities, purpose, and food security.

Learners don’t just grow food. They grow in skills, leadership, responsibility, and social awareness that will extend far beyond the school gates.

Why Project Grow?

For learners in under-resourced schools, access to green spaces and environmental education is often limited. Yet in communities facing food insecurity, sustainable agriculture skills can genuinely change lives.

Project Grow creates outdoor classrooms where learners and educators gain hands-on agricultural knowledge, connect with nature, develop real-world skills, and grow their own food.
