About Us

Our Programme

Jumpstart, Powered by Gift of the Givers, is a 100% free youth development and leadership programme for high schools across South Africa. Fully inclusive, the programme is open to any high school, regardless of location or access to technology. Our programme has made provision for learners with special needs and includes schools for the visually and hearing impaired.

Schools that register for the programme will have the support of establishing a Jumpstart Club that allows them to gain access to the wider programme and free resources. These resources include seed funding, technology, tools, skills development, mentorship and opportunities for career pathways.

The Jumpstart programme and Jumpstart Club are designed to foster inclusivity, teach learners how to address challenges and problem-solve together, and shift mindsets from dependency to independence. Learners have the opportunity to engage in experiential learning, build resilience, compassion and develop leadership skills through their club projects.

Launched in 2025, Jumpstart, Powered by Gift of the Givers is working toward having a footprint in every province.

Jumpstart Focuses On:

  • An inclusive South Africa and patriotism
  • Teaching learners to take action, lead, and be of service to others
  • Personal growth and development
  • Leadership
  • Critical thinking
  • Problem-solving and accountability
  • Student-led projects that create real change
  • Career pathways

Why Jumpstart?

Because young people are our country’s greatest asset, they deserve to be seen, heard, and supported in thriving.

Jumpstart members across the country are discovering their superpowers by taking action, leading initiatives, and learning to prepare for a brighter future. They are proof that not all Superheroes wear capes — some wear school uniforms.
